President Hultin cordially invites you to attend the first in a series of University Symposia in which we will explore the qualities of a “new university for a new age.” This inaugural symposium will be held on March 1, 2006 from 12 NOON to 2 p.m. in LC400. The speaker will be Dean Erich Kunhardt, the Dean of the Imperatore School of Sciences and Arts at Stevens Institute of Technology. At Stevens Institute, Dean Kunhardt and President Hultin worked closely in developing the Technogenesis® program that has dramatically advanced the university’s reputation, programs, and attractiveness to faculty and students.
In 1985, Erich Kunhardt joined the faculty of NYU-Poly as the Director of the Weber Research Institute where he worked on research related to the SDI program and served for a number of years.
Attached is an OpEd from the New York Times that Erich wrote in 2004. It will be helpful in understanding the underpinning’s of Erich’s vision for the future.
At this symposium, President Hultin encourages you to engage in a lively exploration of how Erich’s ideas can be applied to the future of Polytechnic.
Starting at 11:30 a.m. a light lunch will be served.
