28-Apr-2004

Lemelson scholars Shanneil Stewart `05, left, and Erika Papendorf `05 join Dorothy Lemelson at a candle-lighting induction ceremony and luncheon on the MetroTech campus for the Fifth Annual Lemelson Scholarship Induction Ceremony. The Lemelson scholars pledged their commitment to academic excellence and integrity during the program.

Speaking on behalf of the students, Papendorf thanked Mrs. Lemelson. “Your scholarship changed my life,” she said.

Established by Dorothy Lemelson, widow of the famed inventor and Poly alumnus Jerome Lemelson `47 `49 H`95, the $1 million scholarship program helps employed students complete their education. More than 50 Polytechnic students have been Lemelson scholars since it was established in 2000.
